The National Theatre has been a dream for the performing arts people of Malaysia for more than two
decades. It is poised to be one of the most sophisticated in the world and will be responsible to promote the
development of all forms of theatrical art in Malaysia.

The National Theatre has been designed as a functional building which not only reflects the beauty of form,
but also equipped with the necessary facilities to cater for the demanding requirements for local and international
productions, in addition to being efficient, safe and convenient.

Although it is equipped with advanced equipment and gadgets, the architectural design of the complex will
still have the traditional touch of the national heritage - sirih junjung, wau bulan (moon kite) and traditional Malay
designs.
